Jun. 11, 2013 (Tue)FAREWELL, GOODNIGHT - JAZZ & POETRYThe Mile High Jazz Band and vocalists Jakki Ford & Cindee LeVal will be joined by five award-winning poets and readers for a lively evening of big-band jazz music and poetry. The event, "Farewell, Goodnight," will be at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson Street in Carson City, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5 general and free for age 18 and under. Now age 20, he has been winning awards in international competitions since 2005. He will perform a varied program and families are welcome. 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center Ballroom, 449 W. Jun. 14, 2013 (Fri)PAINT, DRINK, AND BE MERRYHosted by artist Deana Hoover, and June Joplin owner of Comma Coffee, 312 S Carson St - this event is at the heart of Carson City’s bohemian art scene. You ‘re invited to join in for the monthly hands on event, “Paint, Drink, and Be Merry,” every second Friday from 7:00pm – 10:00pm. Each participant gets a small carafe of wine, paint, and canvas. There will be easels, brushes, aprons, and plenty of diverse subject matter available for use as part of the event. Participants of all skill levels are encouraged to join in Or, you can book your own party. Paint, Drink, and be Merry takes place on the second Friday of each month for only $28. But if you bring a friend, the cost is $50 for two.

Sponsored by the Downtown Business Association. This will benefit the Disabled American Veterans and the F.I.S.H. Food Bank. Main Street will be closed from Robinson to the Capitol so all bikes and cars can be viewed by the public. The Carson City Ghost Walk is a delightfully spooky and enjoyable way to experience Carson City's Victorian Era and diverse past. Hear about lingering spirits of the past, haunted and paranormal stories. This is a spirit lead, guided walking tour of the downtown district's historic homes. This is a 90 minute guided walking tour which leaves rain or shine. Please arrive 10 minutes before the walk begins.
